ALP HD Playfield Upgrade Kit

Upgrade your ALP HD to a 2K or 4K playfield monitor and improve the playfield quality and OTG flipper response time for a dramatic difference to your pinball experience.

*** Monitors are NOT included with our kits - see bottom of listing for options ***

Three kit options are available - the Mounting Kit for easily installing compatible playfield monitors and the additional Conversion Kits to make the ALP tables work with the new screen

The Mounting Kit comes with everything you need to install, position and level your new screen. Because your new screen will be connected via Display Port, it will not connect natively to your ALP. But if you are gut-modding your ALP to only run via PC (or other front end) then this kit may be all you need. NOTE: Mounting kit will not connect your ALP controls (buttons etc.) or backbox sound to your PC. You need to rewire an encoder board or switch "blind" to OTG for that.

The v2.6 Conversion Kit comes with everything you need to make the ALP v2.6 motherboard connect to the upgraded playfield screen. You can switch back and forth just like you currently can and requires no other changes to your cabinet controls. NOTE: Conversion Kit REQUIRES v2.6 motherboard.

The Blind OTG Conversion Kit comes with everything you need to make the ALP v2.5 (or older) motherboards connect OTG to the upgraded playfield screen including sound and controls. With our automated OTG dongle, the blind switching is done when you press the VIBS button. Your stock ALP controls will work over OTG with your PC. NOTE: Will NOT play ALP tables, only OTG PC tables.

Screens that we know to work with our Mounting Kit include:

Sceptre HDR400: https://amzn.to/3MTSV2e
LG 32GP750 and other similar LG models: https://amzn.to/3SN0xaE
Our mounting system is very flexible and will likely work with more monitors. We will update this list as we verify others.

Important Install Notes/Tips:

1. The new screen orientation needs to be bottom to the RIGHT if you want to play ALP tables, like we show in the video. There is no way to rotate the ALP screen orientation, but it is easy to do in Windows.

2. The trickiest part of the mod is the LVDS cable connection on the mainboard connector. It may not want to hold in tightly without significant pressure. Sometimes switching the ends around seems to help. Because the mainboard flexes as you push the connector in, using something to apply back pressure on the board will help. See video below or HERE for more info.

3. If possible, use the HDMI splitter on the backbox screen that does NOT go through the VIBS. If you only have one backbox screen or your non-VIBS screen is a resolution other than 1920x1080, you don't have a choice and must use the VIBS. If you experience any "no signal" issues when switching to OTG, there is a little toggle on the HDMI switch - try different positions. If you are having connection issues with the playfield saying "no signal", or flashing colors on your backglass, you can also try other ports on your PC - even try a Display Port to HDMI cable into the HDMI switch.

4. If you upgrade your ALP Mainboard to v2.6, you may want to upgrade the firmware to the older 5.68 version, not the current 5.70 version. That can be done by copying the 5.68 firmware file onto a USB key and renaming the file: "ha8819_update.img". If you need that 5.68 firmware file, contact us for a link. NOTE: You may also need to contact AtGames to transfer your account over to the new mainboard ID if you have saved any games to it. And your FlashDriveX will need to be reformatted with the new board as well.

For the Blind OTG mod kit, we will include our OTG Automator adapter that works like this: (Even handy for non-blind implementation.)
Here are some quick tips for inserting the LVDS cable into the mainboard.
